Recorded on May 6, 1985, Charles Amirkhanian interviews composer, avant-garde theater director ,and playwright, Robert Wilson. The two discuss Wilson’s musical theatrical works, many of which are developed in collaborative workshops involving many other people. Also touched upon are several of Wilson’s inventive staging techniques and the challenges of touring with large scale theatrical productions, including the need for greater support for the arts from governments and institutions.
